About

Do you feel like your home doesn’t reflect who you are? Are you embarrassed to invite people over? Would you rather be in a hotel room than in your own bedroom?

Making your home beautiful is easier and less costly then you think. And you don’t have to do it alone. At Knudsen Design Studio we’ll collaborate with you to design a space that makes you eager to come home. Interiors that feel like you and match your lifestyle and create a solid foundation for the rest of your life.

We believe in getting to know our clients so we can design interiors that exemplify who you are and the architecture of your home. We have a transparent process that keeps you in the loop every step of the way without bothering you with the minutia. We always keep your budget and timeframe in mind, so there aren’t any surprises.

Start living the lifestyle you’ve worked so hard to achieve. Whether you want to update your living room or your house, contact us to create a plan that works for you.

Ann Knudsen was my designer on a total renovation and design of my house. The project – which was huge – involved the addition of a bathroom to create a master suite, a remodel of the kitchen and a total change of every single surface (both inside and out)  of the 4 bedroom, 3 bath “English Country Cottage.” I have, in my capacity as a television producer, been involved in many creative productions; none as satisfying or as much fun as putting myself into Ann’s creative hands to transform my house into a home that I continue to love every day. Her sense of color, her creativity, her surprising ideas and collaborative nature made the process exciting and the end product continues to give me pleasure. She has an uncanny ability to infiltrate your own innate taste and sense of design, and then to elevate it to a level that you (or at least I) could never arrive at alone.

Ann Knudsen

Ann Knudsen

Lead Designer

Raised in Southern California among the orange and avocado orchards of Orange County, Ann blends the casual style of her west coast upbringing with a New Yorker’s sensibility. After working for nearly a decade in feature film production in Hollywood, she moved to the New York and received an Interior Design degree from the prestigious Parsons School of Design. A second degree in Art and Architecture from the New School University and extensive travel to Europe has given her an exceptional ability to create eclectic yet classic interiors. Her first project, a Lockwood DeForest designed beach front home in the private community of Sandyland Cove near Montecito, was awarded the cover of Coastal Living and helped launch her note worthy career.  Her color expertise as well use as her use of texture and textiles has brought many clients her way and has been the strong suit in her oeuvre.  Ann’s collaborative nature has given her a wonderful roster of loyal clients on both coasts.
